1.	Hello, room service.　　哈囉, 這裏是客房服務中心。
	本句之原句法為: Hello, this is the room service department/section. ＊section n. 區 (域); 部門　department n. 部門但實際使用時, 只說room service, 而不說the room service department或the room service section。 room service是飯店中的客房服務中心, 供房客叫餐飲、點心之類的地方。有些房客不在餐廳中用餐, 這時就可透過room service的服務將餐點送至房間。例: A: Hello, room service. 　 B: This is room 301. I'd like to order some drinks, please. 　 A: Sure. What would you like? 　 (甲：哈囉，這裏是客房服務中心。) 　 (乙：這裏是301號房。我想要點些飲料。) 　 (甲：好的。您想要點什麼？)
2.	I'd like to order some food, please.　　我想要叫一些菜。
	a. order可表『點(餐) 』或『定購』之意。例: I'll order a pizza for dinner tonight. 　 (我今晚要叫個披薩當晚餐。) 　 If the bookstore doesn't have this book, they can order it for you. 　 (如果那家書店沒有這本書，他們可以為你訂購。) 　 b. 在餐廳中, 服務人員欲向客人點菜時, 常使用下列問句: Are you ready to order, sir? 先生, 您是不是準備好要點菜了呢？ May I take your order now? 我可不可以接受您的點菜呢？例: A: May I take your order now? 　 B: I'm not ready to order yet. Please give me a minute. 　 (甲：我可不可以接受您的點菜呢？) 　 (乙：我還沒準備好要點餐。請再給我一點時間。) 　 c. order也可表『命令』的意思, 句型如下: order + 人 + to + 動詞　　命令某人做…… 例: You don't have the right to order me to do things for you. 　(你沒有權利命令我為你做事。)
3.	I'm sorry, but the kitchen's closed.　　很抱歉, 廚房已經關閉了。
	a. 本句中的closed是形容詞, 用來表示餐廳、商店、公司行號等『停止營業的』、『不開放的』或『關閉的』, 而動詞close則可用來表示餐廳、商店、公司行號等『打烊』、『停止營業』、『關閉』等。例: The museum is closed on Mondays. 　　(那間博物館每星期一都不開放。) ＊museum n. 博物館　 The bookstore closes at 10:00 p.m. every day. 　 (那家書店每天晚上十點打烊。) 　 b. close也可用來表示一般的『關閉』, 如: close the door (關門)、close the window (關窗戶) 等。例: Please close the window. 5.	I'm starving.　　我餓壞了。
	上句中的starving是動詞starve的現在分詞, starve是『飢餓』或『挨餓』的意思, "I'm starving."就是指『我餓壞了。』也就等於"I am very hungry."。例: I'm starving. Do you have anything to eat? 　(我餓壞了。你有什麼東西可以吃嗎？) 　甚至還有下列誇張的說法: 　I'm starving to death. 　(我快餓死了。) ＊death n. 死 (亡)
