yet的用法:
a.使用於現在完成式的否定句中, 與not並用, 形成下列的用法:
have not...yet 尚未……, 還沒……
例:He has not come back yet.
(他尚未回來。)
I haven't heard from him yet.
(我還沒收到他的音訊。)
b.用於現在完成式的疑問句中, yet通常置於疑問句之句尾, 作強調語氣, 也可予以省略; 換言之, yet不具特別意義, 故不必翻譯出來。
例:Has he come back (yet)?
(他已回來了嗎？)
Have you done it (yet)?
(這件事你做完了嗎？。)
至於already亦可表示『已經』的意思, 通常用於肯定句中, 若用於問句則表示強調驚訝的語氣, 不可使用於否定句中。
例:He has come back already.
= He has already come back.
(他已經回來了。)
I have done it already.
= I have already done it.
(我已經把這事做完了。)
Has he come back already?
(他真的已經回來了啊？)
Have you done it already?

＊此處either是副詞, 專用於否定的簡應句中。簡應句有肯定簡應句 (即簡答句) 及否定簡應句之分。
a.肯定簡應句與so或too連用。與so連用時, 簡應句須採倒裝句子結構; 與too連用時, 簡應句不須倒裝。
1)與be動詞連用:
例:He is nice, and so is she.
= He is nice, and she is, too.
(他人很好，她也很好。)
He was going home, and so was she.
= He was going home, and she was, too.
(他即將回家，她也是。)
2)與助動詞連用:
例:He will come, and so will she.
= He will come, and she will, too.
(他要來，她也要來。)
He has gone, and so has she.
= He has gone, and she has, too.
(他走了，她也走了。)
3)與一般動詞連用:
例:He came, and so did she.
= He came, and she did, too.
(他來了，她也來了。)
He has a book, and so does she.
= He has a book, and she does, too.
(他有書，她也有。)
b.否定簡應句用neither、 nor或either。
neither與either皆為副詞, 故and不可省略; nor則為連接詞, 前面不必置and。使用neither與nor時須使用倒裝句子結構, 而使用either時則與not並用, 不須倒裝。
1)與be動詞連用:
例:He isn't nice, and neither is she.
= He isn't nice, nor is she.
= He isn't nice, and she isn't, either.
(他不好，她也不好。)
He wasn't going home, and neither was she.
= He wasn't going home, nor was she.
= He wasn't going home, and she wasn't, either.
(他不回家，她也不回家。)
2)與助動詞連用:
例:He won't come, and neither will she.
= He won't come, nor will she.
= He won't come, and she won't, either.
(他不來，她也不來。)
He hasn't gone, and neither has she.
= He hasn't gone, nor has she.
= He hasn't gone, and she hasn't, either.
(他沒去，她也沒去。)
3)與一般動詞連用:
例:He never tells a lie, and neither does she.
= He never tells a lie, nor does she.
