此處的born是bear的過去分詞。
bear vt. 生
動詞三態: bear、bore、borne/born。
例:Although Jill is bearing a child, she still went swimming.
(雖然吉兒懷了小孩，她還是去游泳。)
Sally bore a child when she was only sixteen.
(莎莉在十六歲時就生了一個小孩。)
注意:
borne與born均為bear的過去分詞, 但用法有別。
a.borne只用於下列兩個形態中:
1)have borne + 受詞 已生了……
例:The woman has borne five children in all.
(這名婦女共生了五個孩子。)
2)be borne by + 人 被某人所生
例:They say the boy was borne by Mary, not Jane.
(據說這男孩是瑪麗所生，而非珍所生。)
b.born則用於be born的形態中, 之後除不得與介詞by並用外, 可與任何介詞並用。
例:He was born in Taipei.
(他是在台北出生的。)
He was born into a poor family.
(他出生寒門。)
He was born of a poor couple.
(他是一對窮苦的夫婦所生的。)
He was born on May 1, 1990.
