Doctor, I think I have the flu.　　醫生，我想我得了流行性感冒。

have the flu　　得了流行性感冒表『得了流行性感冒』, flu之前須置定冠詞the, 而不可用不定冠詞a。

 例: John is not well because he has a flu. (╳)

  → John is not well because he has the flu. (○)

    (約翰因為得了流行性感冒，所以身體不舒服。)

注意:

 一般感冒有下列用法:

 have a cold　　得了感冒

 =catch a cold

 =catch cold

 例: Put on your coat, or you will catch (a) cold.

    (把外套穿起來，否則你會感冒。)

Do you have a cough, too?　　你也有咳嗽嗎？

have a cough　　咳嗽

此處的cough (咳嗽) 是名詞, 但cough也可以作動詞用。

 例: My father has a bad cough today.

    (我父親今天咳得很厲害。)

     Cover your mouth when you cough.

    (咳嗽的時候要把嘴巴捂住。)

例: A: You swim a lot; you must enjoy swimming.

     B: No. Not really. I swim for my health.

    (甲：你經常游泳，你一定很喜歡游泳。)

    (乙：不，算不上真的喜歡。我是為了健康才游泳。)

have a sore throat　　喉嚨痛

sore是形容詞, 表『(疼) 痛的』, 指發炎或受傷的部位一碰就痛的感覺; 此外, sore還可用來表示肌肉方面『酸痛的』, 如: have a sore arm (手臂酸痛)、have a sore leg (腿部酸痛); ache [ ek ] 也可表『疼痛』, 常常和其他字並用形成複合字, 但ache則是指某部位持續疼痛的感覺, 例如:

 have a headache　頭痛

 have a toothache　牙痛

 have a stomachache　胃痛

    (喉嚨／牙齒痛時，不要說太多話。)

 =I have a little of a sore throat. But I have a bit of a fever.

a. a bit of...　　有一點……

 = a little bit of...

例: Let me give you a bit of advice.

     (讓我來給你一點建議吧。)

b. have a fever　　發燒

例: The child is having a high fever.

      (這個小孩正在發高燒。)

       Let me have a look.

      (讓我看看。)

    have a look at + 名詞　　看一看……

例: May I have a look at your picture?

      (我可以看一看你的照片嗎？)

注意:

 中文說『讓我看看』, 英文是"Let me have a look."。有許多學生為了俏皮常說成"Let me see see."或"Let me look look.", 固然有趣, 但卻是錯誤的用法, 應該說"Let me have a look."才對。
