= take a look at + 名詞

= have a look at + 名詞

例: Look at that girl. Isn't she beautiful?

  = Take a look at that girl. Isn't she beautiful?

  = Have a look at that girl. Isn't she beautiful?

　　(看那位女孩，是不是很漂亮啊？)

=It sure is gigantic.

feed是動詞, 表『餵食』的意思。

例: John feeds his dog every day.

　　(約翰每天餵他的狗吃東西。)

People kill them for their tusks. Now they are an endangered species.

人們為取得象牙而殺害牠們, 現在牠們成了瀕臨絕種的動物。

a. tusk是指象、海象、野豬等動物的『長牙』, 是可數名詞; 而ivory則是指『象牙質料/材質』的意思, 是不可數名詞。

例: An elephant has two tusks.

　　(大象有兩隻象牙。)

　 The pipe is made of ivory.

　　(這個煙斗是象牙材質做的。)

b. endangered species　　瀕臨絕種的動植物

例: Tigers are one of the endangered species.

　　(老虎是瀕臨絕種的動物之一。)

注意:

species是單複數同形的名詞, 亦即可說one species, two species, many species等。

Man sometimes behaves worse than animals.　

人類的行為有時候連禽獸都不如。

a. behave是動詞, 表『行為、舉止』的意思, 有下列常見用法:

behave oneself　　循規蹈矩, 守規矩

例: Tom behaves well in school.

　　(湯姆在校行為表現良好。)

b. worse adv. 更壞地 (是副詞badly的比較級)

worst adv. 最壞地 (是副詞badly的最高級)

例: She dances badly.

　　(她舞跳得很糟。)

　　I dance worse than she.

　　(我舞跳得比她更糟。)

　　Peter dances worst of the three boys.

　　(三個男孩中彼得舞跳得最糟。)
