a. 表示數量的代名詞 (如one、two、some、many、a few等) + of + the/these/those/代名詞所有格 (如your、my、John's等) + 複數名詞

b. by taxi　　乘坐計程車

介詞by之後可置表示交通工具的名詞如taxi、train (火車)、bus (公車)、car (小汽車)、plane (飛機)、ship (船)等, 表示『乘坐某種交通工具』的意思。這些名詞之前不可再置定冠詞the或不定冠詞a/an。

　例: We came here by the bus. (╳)

　　→We came here by bus. (○)

　　　(我們是搭乘公車來的。)

　　　He decided to go there by a taxi. (╳)

　　→He decided to go there by taxi. (○)

　　　(他決定乘坐計程車到那兒去。)

　　　Will he come by a train or by a plane? (╳)

　　→Will he come by train or by plane? (○)

　　　(他會坐火車來還是坐飛機來？)

The taxi ride might be expensive, but it's time-saving.

乘坐計程車或許貴了些, 可是它倒蠻省時的

例: You may be right, so I'll listen to you.
