Part A

1.	check into a/the hotel
	是指在旅館或飯店登記辦理住宿的手續, 也就等於check in (at a/the hotel) 的用法。例: We will check into a hotel as soon as we get to Taichung. 　 (我們一抵達台中就會去飯店辦理住宿手續。) 　 Let's check in before we have lunch at the hotel. 　 (咱們先在飯店辦住宿手續再吃午餐吧。) 如果要表示『辦理退房手續』時, 則可以用check out (of a/the hotel) 這個片語。例: The clerk says we have to check out of the hotel before noon. 　 (該職員說我們必須在中午前辦理退房手續。) 　 If you check out after 12 noon, you'll have to pay for another day. 　 (如果你在中午十二點後才退房，就必須多付一天的錢。)
2.	I have a reservation for a suite.　　我訂了一間套房。
	我們在Lesson 19中已介紹過"make a reservation for..." (預訂……) 的用法, 這裏再介紹另一個常用的片語"have a reservation for..."。 "have a reservation for..."是指『(已經) 預訂了……』, 強調的是預訂的事實; 而"make a reservation for..."則強調預訂的動作。例: I have a reservation for a table for two. 　 (我已經預訂了一張兩個人坐的餐桌。) 　 A: Are you ready for your trip? 　 B: I still have to make a reservation for the hotel. 　 (甲：你的旅行準備好了嗎？) 　 (乙：我還得訂旅館。) ＊trip n. 旅行
3.	Please fill out this form.　　請填一下這張表格。
	= Please fill in this form. 例: Before the job interview, you have to fill out an application form. 　　(工作面試前，你必須先填申請表。) ＊interview n. 面談　application n. 申請表/書
4.	Will you pay by cash or charge?　　您要付現還是刷卡？
	= Will you pay by cash or (by) credit card? 原句是由"Will you pay by cash or by charge?"省略而來。此處的by charge就是不付現金, 而用信用卡付帳的意思, 也就等於by credit card之意。＊ credit card n. 信用卡例: I always pay for things by cash. 　 (我買東西向來都是付現金。) 　 It's very easy to overspend when you have a credit card. 　 (當你有信用卡時就很容易會花錢過度。) ＊overspend v. 花費過多 charge除了用作名詞外, 還可以作動詞用, 表『收費』、『索價』之意。其句型如下: 　charge + 人 + 金錢 + for + 物品　　因某物向某人索取……(金錢) 的費用例: The tutor charges his students NT$1,000 an hour for English lessons. 　(那個家教教一個小時英文課向學生收一千塊台幣。)
5.	Do you take traveler's checks?　　你們收旅行支票嗎？
	= Do you accept traveler's checks? 這裏的take和accept都是表『接受』的意思; 要詢問對方『接不接受……(的付款方式)』時, 都可用"Do you take/accept...?"表示。例: A: Do you take credit cards? 　 B: Sure. No problem. 　 (甲：你們收信用卡嗎？) 　 (乙：當然有。沒問題。)
6.	Certainly.　　當然。
	= Of course. 例: A: Do you have time to see me now? 　 B: Certainly. 　　 Of course. 　　 (甲：你現在有空和我見面嗎？) 　 (乙：當然有。) 　 A: Can you help me fix my bike? 　 B: Certainly. 　　　 Of course. 　　 (甲：你能幫忙我修理腳踏車嗎？) 　 (乙：當然可以。) 　 A: May I use your phone? 　 B: Certainly. 　　　 Of course. 　　 (甲：我可以借用你的電話嗎？) 　 (乙：當然可以。)
