上列句中, have為使役動詞, 接受詞後, 再接stick (將……插入) 的過去分詞stuck作受詞補語。

have作使役動詞時, 加受詞後, 可接過去分詞作受詞補語, 此時have譯成『把……』; have之後除可接過去分詞作受詞補語外, 亦可接原形動詞作受詞補語, 此時have譯成『叫/令……』。

例: I had my radio fixed yesterday.

　 (我昨天把收音機拿去修理。)

　 Mom has us children help with the housework.

　 (媽媽叫我們這些小孩子幫忙做家事。)

有關倍數詞的用法如下:

half (一半)、one-third (三分之一)、two-thirds (三分之二)、

a. 倍數詞 + as...as...　　是……的幾倍

例: He is half as rich as I.

　 (他的財富是我的一半。)

　 This car is three times as expensive as that one.

　 (這部車的價錢是那部車的三倍。)

b. more than + 倍數詞 + as...as...　　是……的幾倍還不止

例: I am more than three times as old as he.

　 (我的年齡是他的三倍還不止。)

　 Hugo is more than twice as heavy as his brother.

　 (雨果的體重是他弟弟的兩倍還不止。)

c. 倍數詞 + 定冠詞the/所有格 (his、her、my...) /指示形容詞 (this、that、these、those) + 名詞　　是……的幾倍

例: This river is ten times the length of the Tamsui River.

　 = This river is ten times as long as the Tamsui River.

　 (這條河的長度是淡水河的十倍長。)

　 The basketball player is twice my height.

　 (那個籃球員的身高是我的兩倍。)

d. more than + 倍數詞 + 定冠詞the/所有格 (his、her、my...)/指示形容詞 (this、that、these、those) + 名詞　　是……的幾倍還不止

例: This river is more than ten times the length of the Tamsui
  　River.

  　= This river is ten times as long as the Tamsui River.

  　(這條河的長度是淡水河的十倍還不止。)

  　The basketball player is more than twice my height.

  　(那個籃球員身高是我的兩倍還不止。)
