注意:
"Needless to say, 主詞 + 動詞"乃由"It is needless to say + that子句"化簡而來, 因經常使用, 已成固定用法。但使用"It goes without saying..."時, 則其後一定要接that引導的名詞子句, 而不可化簡。
例: Needless to say, every parent loves his or her own child.
(不用說，每個做父母的都愛自己的小孩。)
It goes without saying that a good son will always take
care of his parents.
(不用說，好兒子會一直照顧他的雙親。)
b. thousands of + 複數名詞 數以千計的……
dozens of + 複數名詞 數十的……
hundreds of + 複數名詞 數以百計的……
tens of thousands of + 複數名詞
數以萬計的……
(係由ten thousand『一萬』變化而成)
hundreds of thousands of + 複數名詞
數以十萬計的……
(係由one hundred thousand『十萬』變化而成)
millions of + 複數名詞 數以百萬計的……
tens of millions of + 複數名詞
數以千萬計的……
(係由ten million『千萬』變化而成)
＊上列片語中的複數名詞前不可置定冠詞the或所有my、his、her...等, 即無"hundreds of the/his students"的用法。
例: Hundreds of the people demonstrated in front of the police
station. ( )
→ Hundreds of people demonstrated in front of the police
station.
(數好百人在警察局前示威。)
＊demonstrate vi. 舉行示威運動
Hundreds of thousands of people died in the war.
(數十萬人死於那場戰爭中。)

(由於他的粗心，浪費了好幾百萬元。)
注意:
上列數量詞 (hundred、thousand...) 前若有明確數字, 而其後有介詞of時, 則此時其後的複數名詞前須置定冠詞the或所有格my、his、her...等。
例:Two hundred of the monkeys in the jungle were captured.
(叢林裡猴子中有兩百隻被捕了。)
A hundred of my friends came to my wedding.
(我的朋友中有一百個人來參加我的婚禮。)
