1.

Grouchy people are always complaining for no reason.

Is he driving you crazy with his complaints?

:Mary is doing her homework.

   He is watching TV.

   She is reading the newspaper.

Whenever I go to visit Grandpa, he is sleeping.

Joan is always boasting about how rich she is.

   boast vi.

b. complain vi.

complaint n.

 complain about/of + 名詞/動名詞 抱怨……

 make a complaint 抱怨; 申訴

: John complained about his neighbor's noisy children.

The woman complained that her husband worked overtime
    every day.

I'm going to make a complaint to the police if you don't
stop playing loud music in the middle of the night.

    訴。
)

2.

Take him to the doctor's.

 the doctor's office/clinic the doctor's

the dentist's office the dentist's

the grocery store the grocer's

the barber shop the barber's 理髮店

the butcher's shop the butcher's 肉店

: There are many patients waiting in line at the doctor's.

Mom goes to the grocer's to buy food once a week.

David went to the barber's to have a haircut.

3.

There's one strange thing about the report, though.

: Helen is very pretty. I, though, don't like her.

= Helen is very pretty. I don't like her, though.

= Helen is very pretty. However, I don't like her.

= Helen is very pretty; however, I don't like her.

= Helen is very pretty. I, however, don't like her.

I know you are angry with Jack. What can you do about it,
   though?

: Though Brad is old, he looks very young.

= Although Brad is old, he looks very young.

= Brad looks very young (al) though he is old.
